Are you an asylum seeker and a media professional currently living in an initial reception center (Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung) in Brandenburg or in a communal accommodation (Gemeinschaftunterkunft) in Potsdam-Mittelmark?

If so, this could be of interest to you:

The Exile Media Hub Brandenburg (XHBB) is a new place to live, learn and work in the media industry. Residents are journalists, video editors, UX designers, software developers, AI Experts, social media marketeers, sound technicians, camera operators and more...

The place is based in a small village between Wiesenburg and Bad Belzig.

Participants of the XHBB program are invited to live together in an official housing for refugees, with whom you share a professional background, and a sense of community.

Participants come from countries around the globe.

 

What can you expect?

Social workers will help with bureaucratic processes, access to mental and physical health services, access official integration German Courses, and general living rights.

The added benefits of the XHBB program is run by MiCT and Coconat focuses on your Professional and/or Educational development in Germany. There will be special workshops provided which focus on different aspects of media work, production of content, and journalistic work.

What we expect?

Participants of the XHBB project are expected to take part in regular community building meetings, activities that give access to local people in the region, and participation in professional development activities, including regular meetings, workshops, excursions and in-house German lessons.
